*** This Course is a MANDATORY REQUIREMENT to retain and renew the SIA Security Officer/Guard Licence after 01 April 2025 ***
As of 01 October 2024, the Security Officer/Guard "Top-Up" Course course has started to be withdrawn, with the "Refresher" Course now taking it's place.
These additional training requirements have been set out by the SIA, including the continuation of the compulsory Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Qualification, which MUST be achieved prior to the commencement of any security training.
This 0.5 Day Refresher Course has been implemented to align existing Security Officer/Guard Licence holders with the updated modules of training.

DURATION
The course is run "blended", with 4 Hours of E-Learning (Home Self-Study) and 0.5 Days of Face-to-Face Classroom Sessions

Unit 1: Principles of Working as a Security Officer in the Private Security Industry (Refresher)

- Understand how to keep vulnerable people safe
- Understand terror threats and the role of the security operative in the event of a threat

- 2 x Online Assessments (Self-Study)

Prerequisites
As of April 2021, you MUST hold at least a Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Qualification (or equivalent) that has been Verified & Accredited, which must be achieved prior to the commencement of any security training and have at least 12 months remaining until expiry.
